Both Gina and Bryan grew up in suburban Cincinnati in a neighborhood settings. We were raised in families who owned and loved dogs. During our married life, we have loved and enjoyed our famiy pets, seeking to provide them with a wonderful life in every way. Although we took the challenge during the Summer of 2016 to officially become Labrador breeders, we began this process 21 years earlier with 2 litters of puppies being born to our pets in Alabama and 2 litters being born 4-5 years ago here in Cincinnati.
Labradors are such an intelligent, loyal, friendly, adorable, biddable, great-tempered breed. That is why they are the most popular breed of dog in the world! Our family, consisting of our 8 children, and most recently, three grandchildren, have been tremendously blessed to have owed labs for the past 22 years. But we realize labs may not be the best breed for everyone. Labradors are known for not only their attractive appearance, but also for their intelligence, family friendliness, and companionship. But Labradors are a fairly large, active breed which need a reasonable amount of space inside and outside the house. They love to get dirty, swim, play in the mud, run through the undergrowth, etc., and may drool. If you are "house proud", this breed may not be for you. The financial needs of owning a dog include the vet care, regular worming and de-fleaing, food, and so on. Like all breeds, labs can be a challenge as they are extremely boisterous and clumsy the first two or three years of their lives. They are great family dogs but a lively young puppy and a lively, young child may not be a good combination. Labradors need proper training and sufficient exercise and play time to be the ultimate pet.
In April 2020 the Converse’s were able to secure their dream as they purchased and then moved into their current home that is a reconditioned, late 1800’s farm house that sits on 11+ acres. As a result of this dream becoming a reality of our “new” farm and with the popularity of CPL with a great demand for our quality puppies, CPL is expanding our business in an effort to provide more people with our top quality dogs. CPL has added 2 new male pups, Boomer and Butch as well as a new female Josie. CPL is adding the “Dog Room“ which will be a whelping and holding area with an office. The “Barn” will be the transition area where there will be indoor/outdoor kennels with an acre of enclosed area for the pups and the dogs to socialize and run. In August of 2020 CPL will be adding a 1+ pond that will be used for water training as well as a recreational heaven for the CPL family! But all the while CPL will never leave our roots, the foundation that made CPL such a blessing to our CPL families of having the best “family” dogs available. Although the number of our dogs have gone up these dogs are our pets…they family members. They will never be out at the back of the property in cages, alone and unattended but rather in our home watching TV with us, hanging out with us as we enjoy are weekly family, Sunday lunches or enjoying the blessing of our farm together.
If you believe that a Labrador is the breed for you, we would be honored to be your breeder of choice. It is very important to us to be able to provide others with the healthiest, most loving and loyal puppies with the best temperaments and character possible.
